Synopsis: Reader is out in the dark, contemplating life's hardships and someone catches them.

Quiet waves from the river below you reverberate in your ears, erasing all the thoughts you had on your head. That sound kept your mind at peace, leading the intrusive and wandering thoughts away. Why you were there though? You knew that standing outside in the cold would probably just give you headaches in the morning, but you just can't behave yourself to go home. Home is far away and it isn't in Asahikawa¹. After the sudden death of your mom, you just couldn't handle all the pressure of your family and ended up moving and living alone. But, now you feel lonely, in the dark, waiting for something or someone that will take you out of that pain. Staring at the river, only now you notice that you were crying. You quickly wipe the tears away before feeling a gloved warm hand on your shoulder. "Are you okay?" You hear the low voice of a young man behind and that startled you, only for you to notice that it was Ryu Sanada, the guy that sits behind you at class. "Oh, I'm fine. Just looking at the sky." That was the worst excuse you had, but it was also the only one you could think of. "Are you sure? You're freezing." He says, looking at you with that simple and bored resting face. "Yeah, I'm fine." You repeat, probably it is more ensuring for you than for him. Ryu nods and puts his hand on your back. "Your house is that way, right?" He says, while you nod in response. "I'll go with you, this hour of the night is more dangerous here." You two follow to your house, his hand never leaving your back, hesitantly moving softly to comfort you. He leaves you at your front door and after looking at you for the fourth time, he bows to get to your height. "If you need, come find comfort in me." He smiles. "I'll always listen." You smile too and that makes him happy. He loves seeing you smile. "Thank you, Ryu." You say, after turning your back and opening your door. You turn again to have a last look at him and he was still there, waiting for you to get home safely. You wave him goodbye and you enter your home, now with your back, cheeks and heart warm by his gentle but simple embrace.

ough??? I was playing the Great Ace Attorney ch2 and was planning to blog about my progress once I reached the trial, but there was no trial. it was all investigation!

It was an interesting chapter!! Though it did feel kinda looooong.... I think I would have preferred having a shorter investigation and then a trial afterwards, although I realize that wouldn't really have worked with that particular mystery. The deductions were pretty fun, but I definitely got impatient waiting for Sholmes to get everything wrong the first time around lol. I hope that in the future they'll work together from the start instead of having the course correction as a separate phase.

Ok so I know there's more to this situation because I have knowledge of Later Events™️, but one thing is bugging me. How on earth did Kazuma's body stay in the same place as to appear like he wrote the wardrobe message?? If the ship's emergency stop was enough to knock Ryunosuke and Susato across the room, and to risk waking up the whole ship if not for the sleeping drug, did it really not move Kazuma's body even slightly?? And this happened AFTER Stroganov had left the room already, so it's not like he could have been moved back? 🤔
